What is Acupuncture and what conditions can it treat?

The earliest accounts of Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine stem from nearly 3,000 years ago. Due to its very gentle nature, and ability to help a wide variety of symptoms and conditions, it has standed the test of time. It also has the ability to prevent disease as well, since it works with the body's own natural healing mechanics to procure wellness. It does so by relying primarily on the Taoist principle of Yin and Yang, or in other words, the innate balance that is within all things in nature. Thus, it helps keep one's immune system strong, wards off potential illness, prolongs longevity, and helps the body become strong, in order to deter illness. Eastern Medicine is not just Acupuncture. It is a full system of medicine that includes herbal formulations, dietary and lifestyle balancing, cupping, gua sha, qi gong, tai qi, and tuina (massage).

I truly believe in the Integration of Eastern and Western medicine as a platform for healing. I frequently order lab tests and may suggest referrals if I feel it will get us closer to the source or the root of the problem. I am happy to speak to your general practioner in order to help bridge the gap towards health.
